When we operate the precision instrument, we will use radio frequency rotor connectors and RF cables. These radio frequency rotation connectors and RF cables cooperate with our instruments to obtain accurate test data. So how do we correct radio frequency connection?
01 Correctly select RF connector
First of all, choose a relatively good radio frequency rotor connector and RF cable. When we use the two original RF rotation connections, at 18GHz operating frequency, 89.9%of the signals can pass normally. Without use of a rotor, 91.9%signal can pass normally. In the case of the two original rotary connectors, the transmitted signal is similar. However, after we replaced one of the transit heads with the inferior rotor head of the non -original factory, at the operating frequency of 18GHz, only 38.1%of the signal can be passed normally, which has seriously affected the test. In addition, the physical dimensions of the poor rotor heads are not standard. After the use over time, it will cause wear on the radio frequency interface of the instrument.
02 Operation with both hands, tighten the correct thread
When connecting the microwave connector, you need to connect the connector and the radio frequency interface horizontally, and then use your hands to operate. Fix the connector at the specified position in one hand, and use the torque wrench in the other hand to connect at the specified location.
Do not operate one hand, because one -handed operation is not easy to connect the connector horizontally with the radio frequency port. If the two tighten the connector at a certain angle, a mechanical stress will cause physical damage to the connector.
The cable of the N -type radio frequency head also requires both hands to operate. The specific process should be to check whether there are foreign bodies at the interface. Then fix the ontology of the cable in one hand to make it unable to rotate, and then use another hand to rotate the cable thread to tighten it.
03 Use a torque wrench
When we connect to the connection and cable, we use a torque wrench. Using a torque wrench can ensure that it is fully connected and avoids excessive force, causing physical damage to the device. In the use, it is important to note that the two error demonstrations shown in the figure below. The angle of the use of the torque wrench rotation cannot be too large, and the position of the hand holds should not be too high. Both errors can cause incorrect force.
Different specifications of connectors need to use different torque wages. Compared with the table below, such as the N -type connector, please use a 12 -pound torque wrench. At the same time, we need to notice that the physical size of the SMA connector and a 3.5mm connector is the same, but the number of pounds of the torque wrench is different. When using these two connectors, you need to pay attention to using the corresponding torque wrench.
To achieve the above three points, the damage of the radio frequency connector can be avoided, thereby ensuring the normal progress of the instrument test and the accuracy of the test.
